The Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development
“What the Arab world needs today is an educational revolution; we need a fundamental change that will fulfill every parent’s ambition to provide their child with a quality education.” – Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, 2013
The Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development (QRF) aims to improve learning opportunities for children and young people in Jordan so that they are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values that will allow them to excel in a fast-paced and increasingly competitive world. It aims to push the boundaries of education in Jordan, and across the region, within and beyond the classroom, and facilitate a transformation in educational quality and learning outcomes.
Jordan’s key resource is its people and investing in their education and skills is critical to the country’s socially inclusive development and its global economic competitiveness.
One of the core functions for QRF is to support Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah’s established programs which tackle a range of educational issues, ranging from school rehabilitation, to learning through play, teacher training, teacher awards, ICT in education, supporting orphans, community development, and health awareness. Another is to act as a resource on educational issues and incubate innovative programs to catalyze and accelerate local and regional governmental reform efforts in education, utilizing new tools and technologies. The latest of these is Edraak, a Pan Arab initiative offering online learning opportunities for Arab youth, which will launch in 2014.
